2-Way Gate Latch

Does the latch attach to a round wooden post? If so, how - is there a different base or an additional part?

The portion of the latch kit that attaches to a stationary surface has a flat back, so ideally it would work best on a wall or square post. However, if you wanted to attach it to a round post it can be done as long as it is a larger diameter round post. Hardware, such as j-bolts, that would connect the latch to a wall or post, are not included.
